Dibrugarh: Continuing agitation against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Dibrugarh unit of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and students of several colleges, including DHSK College, DHSK Commerce College, MDKG College, Dibru College, and City College, held anti-CAB demonstrations on Saturday at Thanacharali.

Anti-CAB slogans of a gathering of around 500 people, right next to Dibrugarh Sadar Thana, rent the air. The agitators showed their anger and disappointment for CAB and demanded that the proposed Bill be quashed in the interest of the Assamese language and culture. They also sent a memorandum to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister.

AASU activists also agitated in front of MLA Rituparna Baruah’s residence on Friday night in an attempt to highlight their resentment against CAB. Talking to The Sentinel, president of All Dibrugarh Students’ Union, Rupjyoti Borthakur said that the organization would continue such agitation against the Bill until it was annulled. He informed that similar protests were scheduled for Saturday evening too, starting from Dibrugarh University.
