AOD Digboi Refinery observes World Health Day

DIGBOI: Joining hands with the rest across the globe in celebrating the World Health Day, AOD Digboi Refinery also observed the day by conducting a walkathon here on Wednesday morning in Digboi.

With a motto to build a fairer and healthier world, Digboi AOD medical department organized a walkathon in compliance with COVID-19 protocol, stated an AOD press communiqué.

The walkathon was flagged off by Kailash Pati, ED & RD AOD Digboi, in presence of NK Barua, the Chief General Manager (TS/HSE), KK Sarma, CGM (Technical ), other dignitaries, doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and other members of the medical department. The members of Assam Oil School of Nursing and Assam Oil College of Nursing also participated in the programme.

Dr. B. Hazarika, DGM I/C (H,S&E-Medical), during his welcome address apprised the gathering about the COVID-19 vaccination drive organized for IOCL employees and their dependents in liaison with the district health administration to commemorate the day.

Kailash Pati, ED & RD AOD Digboi laid emphasis on the strict compliance to COVID preventive behavior, importance of health awareness and proactive actions for prevention of emergence of health disorders or complications. He also lauded the initiatives of frontline health workers of Digboi Refinery in containing the menace of COVID-19 in AOD Refinery and Township through various public awareness programmes for the community and providing health services to the society.

The participants during the walkathon displayed placards to sensitize the people on various COVID-19 related Do's and Don'ts.
