Namrup: Like every year along with the rest of the country, APL observed its one of the prominent occasions National Safety Day (NSD) recently aiming at enhancing safety awareness among employees and also commemorating the establishment of this event. The celebration was kicked off by displaying safety banners at various locations of the office premises, pinning of safety badges on employees and distributing safety leaflets. In the spirit of this day, Jayanta Buragohain (Assist. Manager- Safety) highlighted the purpose behind celebrating National Safety Day every year all over India.
This year’s NSD theme was to Enhance Safety & Health performance by the use of advanced technologies. The meeting then progressed with the hoisting of Safety flag by Debabrata Bhattacharyya at 10.00 am in front of CO’s emergency assembly point in presence of many top officials followed by an interactive seminar, where top officials and many employees spoke on various safety-related issues and provided valuable suggestions, also enlightened the importance of safety at workplace and in every walk of life. After that, the meeting was concluded with administering safety pledge by Satyajit Borkotoky (GM-Mtls. & HR) and a demonstration on fire fighting using various types of fire extinguishers by Durlov Borah Fire officer (APL).
