HAFLONG: As part of the Prime Minister’s National Apprenticeship Mela, the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Haflong, organized an Apprenticeship Mela on Monday at its campus. The event witnessed the participation of around 20 pass-out students from various parts of the Dima Hasao district.
Dalmia Cement Ltd took part in the event, with Deputy Manager (HR) Ashish Shankar Das conducting interviews for candidates across different trades. Several applicants were selected on the spot and offered the opportunity to begin apprenticeships with the organization.
Speaking on the occasion, M Rajioung, Superintendent of ITI Haflong, stated that the mela is aimed at providing job opportunities to youth seeking employment. He emphasized that future melas will involve a wide range of organizations, not just those focused on skill development, but also those open to graduates and degree holders from diverse fields.
