KOKRAJHAR: Couple of days after the All Rabha Women's Council (ARWC), Kokrajhar district committee announced to vote for United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) candidates, the Kokrajhar district committee of All Rabha Students' Union (ARSU) on Tuesday announced that the student body will vote in favour of Bodoland People's Front (BPF) candidates while the Koch Development Council (KDC) has also declared that it will vote for United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) candidates in the ensuing second phase BTC election.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the president of Kokrajhar district ARSU, Pitor Koch said that they would extend support to the BPF in the next phase election as the HagramaMohilary-led BPF had worked for the development of Rabha language, culture, literature and economic development, besides appointment of teachers in Rabha medium education. He said that they had high hopes and aspirations from the BPF and called upon his community to cast their votes in favour of BPF candidates.

Meanwhile, the president, DayachandRongag and vice-president Naresh Koch of Koch Development Council (KDC) very recently announced that they would support the PromodBoro-led UPPL. In the statement, they said that they had called on UPPL chief PromodBoro on November 30 and discussed at length their various problems and prospects. They said that Boro had promised the Koch (Rabha) community to develop Rabha language, culture, literature, socio-economic development, protection of identity and political rights. They called upon the Koch/Rabha community to vote for UPPL candidates.

On the other hand, the president of All Rabha Women Council, Kokrajhar district committee, Rongjuli Kama has already announced to support the PromodBoro-led UPPL candidates alleging that the Mohilary-led BPF had failed to bring any development for the Rabha people.
