KALIABOR: Tea Worker Union top leader and Congress party's candidate for Assam Assembly Election from Kaliabor constituency, Bindu Ganjur joined the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) on Sunday. This can be marked as a huge blow to Congress party before the Assembly elections.

With the initiative of the Legislative Council of Kaliabor, the AGP on Sunday organized its 'Jatiya Aikya Samaroh' at Gandhi field in Kunwaritol. The huge convention was attended by AGP party president Atul Bora, executive president and local MLA Keshab Mahanta along with other dignitaries. During the ceremony, Bindu Ganjur officially joined the party. Many other top leaders of the Congress and other rival parties also joined the party during the programme.

The Jatiya Aikya Convention was attended by tens of thousands of party workers, supporters, and well-wishers. During his address to the public, Minister Atul Bora stated that the AGP is confident that in the upcoming Assembly election, Keshab Mahanta will win from Kaliabor constituency breaking all previous records.

"Leaders like Keshab Mahanta have always worked for the betterment of the constituency. People like him are very hard to find," said Bora.

The AGP president without mentioning any specific names harshly criticized the leadership and functioning of the student union body.

Amidst the huge support, Minister Atul Bora with great fluency said, "At one point, Keshab Mahanta and I were also part of the students' union. In fact, at that time the student body's agenda was regionalism and nationalism. However, things have changed drastically and the people of Assam are well aware of this fact. This student body is no longer a State organization."

"Under the leadership of Congress and AIUDF, various political parties have dawned in Assam and all the members of such parties are dreaming of becoming ministers and MLAs.

The so-called student leaders that are criticizing the AGP party must remember that they are the ones who have hit the last straw of nails in the National Organization's coffin," he added.

The Congress is on the verge of death, so they are in this situation now. The party is trying to survive by falling in love with Ajmal, though there is no possibility of Congress winning.

He said that AGP has regained its momentum and added that the pace is progress and progress is development.

It is noteworthy that AGP leader Mani Madhav Mahanta was preside over the huge Jatiya Aikya Samaroh, Minister Keshab Mahanta stated during the meeting that his main moto is to make Kaliabor self-reliant, self-sufficient.
