ASPEDICON-2019 concludes, eminent paediatricians felicitated in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The three-day 34th annual conference of Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP), Assam State branch (ASPEDICON-2019), held under the aegis of Academy of Paediatrics Tinsukia, concluded in Tinsukia on Sunday. With the theme ‘Reaching out to the Unreached’, the three-day event witnessed the presentation of scientific papers, oration lectures, felicitation programme.

The inaugural programme held on Saturday and chaired by Dr Shabina Ahmed, IAP State president, was graced by Diganta D Shastri, national president IAP, as chief guest with grand felicitation to Dr Chandra Sekhar Das, former professor of Paediatrics, Silchar Medical College, a teacher par excellence and contributor of several scientific and child-care related articles.

In his brief inspirational speech, Dr Das said, “Paediatricians must concern with child’s entire spectrum of development-physical, mental, social and emotional. The theme rightly envisaged the need in the context of present Indian scenario.” Three other eminent paediatricians of the region, Dr Dileep Kr Patgiri and Dr Mrinal Baruah, former professors of AMC, and Dr JN Sarma of GMC were also felicitated on the occasion. The valedictory programme was held at the Dibru-Saikhowa National Park on river cruise on Sunday.
