Assam: 108 Year Old Subhadra Devi Passes Away
Subhadra Devi resided in the Pramod Talukdar Memorial Old Age Home for a long period of time.
GUWAHATI: The sweetest grandmother of all time, Subhadra Devi aka Kolija Aita breathed her last on 2nd of February, Thursday.
As per the sources, on 19th of January, the 108 year old was admitted in the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital as her health condition deteriorated because of some age old ailment.
Subhadra Devi resided in the Pramod Talukdar Memorial Old Age Home for a long period of time. On 23rd of January, Keshab Mahanta, the Assam Health Minister took stock of the health of Kolija Aita.
Furthermore, the superintendent of GMCH was advised to perform all the treatment at free of cost for Aita. Several visitors of the old age home admired Subhadra Devi and were mesmerised with her voice, words and face. Each and every individual who had a chat with Aita, considered her as the best companion.
Kolija Aita died in the hospital at around 10:30am in the Intensive Care unit. Before residing in the Pramod Talukdar Old Age Home in Beltola, Subhadra Devi resided at the Mother Old Age Home.
One of the most prominent figures of Assam in the field of literacy, Nilamoni Phukan breathed his last on 19th of January, 2023. According to Achyut Patowary, Superintendent of the GMCH, Phookan breathed his last at 11.55 am after being admitted to the GMCH on Wednesday night from a city-based private hospital in a critical condition.
The ailing poet had contracted septic shock that spread throughout his body and was being treated by doctors from the cardiology, neurology, anesthesia, and medicine departments. The GMCH Superintendent said that Phookan was undergoing non-invasive ventilation (NIV) at the time of his demise.
