DIBRUGARH: In a remarkable achievement, 28 out of 30 students from the OIL Pragyan Super 30, Dibrugarh, have successfully qualified the JEE Mains 2025, marking a 93.33% success rate. This outstanding performance has paved the way for these students to pursue admissions in prestigious institutions like the IITs and NITs.

Addressing a press conference in Dibrugarh on Tuesday, Oil India Limited (OIL) General Manager Diganta Kumar Bora expressed pride in the achievement, stating that the result reflects the transformative impact of structured mentorship and inclusive education. “This is a moment of great pride and inspiration for all of us. These students have proven what is possible with opportunity, guidance, and determination,” Bora said.

OIL Pragyan Super 30 is a flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Oil India Limited, implemented by CSRL (Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership). The programme provides 11 months of free residential coaching and academic support to meritorious but underprivileged students preparing for JEE and NEET, helping them gain admission into premier engineering and medical institutes across the country.

Currently, the engineering coaching under the initiative is offered at five centres: Guwahati, Nagaon, and Dibrugarh in Assam; Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh; and Jodhpur in Rajasthan. NEET coaching is provided exclusively at the Jorhat centre in Assam.

Since its inception in 2010, OIL Pragyan Super 30 has enrolled 1,785 students across all centres, out of which 1,654 have secured admissions in top institutions like IITs, ISM Dhanbad, IIST (ISRO), ISI, IISER, BIT Patna, IIITs, Indian Maritime University (Kolkata), NITs, and various state engineering colleges.

The Dibrugarh centre, established in 2013, has supported over 300 students so far. Of these, 48 have gained admission into IITs, 113 into NITs, while many others are pursuing engineering degrees from reputed government institutes. This consistent performance underscores the effectiveness of the programme.

The selection process for OIL Pragyan Super 30 is highly competitive, involving a two-stage procedure – a written examination followed by an academic interview. The programme specifically targets students from families with an annual income of less than Rs 4 lakh to ensure that support reaches those who need it the most. Beyond academics, the initiative places equal emphasis on character development, discipline, and leadership, aiming to nurture not only successful students but also responsible and empowered citizens.

The success of these 28 students stands as a testament to the power of guided opportunity, structured learning, and unwavering commitment, and continues to inspire countless others across the country.
