DHUBRI: The 349th Swahidi Diwas ( Martyrdom Day) will be celebrated with a three-day programme in Gurudwara Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji at Dhubri under the auspices of Sikh Pratinidhi Board, Eastern Zone ( SPBEZ) from December 5.
A colourful Nagar Kirtan (procession with reciting Sikh religious hymns in the town) will be taken out in Dhubri town with the Gurugranth, a most sacred and holy book of Sikh religion on December 6, wherein nearly 50 thousands Sikh devotees, coming from entire north east, across the country and abroad are likely to participate. Talking to The Sentinel, Chief Adviser of SPBEZ, Sardar Kulwant Singh informed that all the preparations were completed to celebrate this holiest occasion at the Gurudwara including facelifting the Sikh shrine of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, accomodation for the devotees, serving of Guru Ka Langar for three days.
“All the works and responsibilities were assigned to different sangats (teams) and they are doing their best and making no stone unturned to make this occasion a grand and grandeur in all aspects,” Singh further informed.
Singh also informed that a special train would run from Dibrugarh to Dhubri for devotees. This special train will leave Dibrugarh on December 4, will arrive Dhubri on December 5 in the morning and leave Dhubri for Dibrugarh on December 7 and reach Dibrugarh on the following day, Singh added.A
