Assam: 35th Death Anniversary of Bodofa UN Brahma Observed

KOKRAJHAR: The 35th death anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma was observed by ABSU units, anchalik and district, universities, and committees in a befitting manner on Thursday. To mark his legacy and dedication, live streaming of the unveiling ceremony of Bodofa UN Brahma statue in New Delhi by Union Home Minister Amit Shah was held in 14 different schools and Bodofa Cultural Complex. In the evening, lighting of five lakh lamps was done in the households, ABSU offices, private institutions, and offices of respective organizations.

The ABSU, in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Assam, and Bodofa UN Brahma Trust, observed the 35th death anniversary of Bodofa at his burial place, Thulungapuri, Dotma in Kokrajhar, where Minister Nandia Garlosa, BTC Deputy Chief Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, and EMs Dhananjay Basumatary and Rakesh Brahma offered floral tribute to Bodofa. The Additional Chief Secretary of Assam Dr Kalyan Chakraborty and Director of UN Academy Krishna Gopal Basumatary also paid floral tribute to Bodofa. Meanwhile, the officers and staff of BTC Secretariat also observed the day in front of the Secretariat and offered floral tribute at his statue. Earlier, Assistant Education Secretary of ABSU Romeo Kr Basumatary hoisted the organizational flag at half mast.
