GORESWAR: International May Day was observed on Thursday with an open convention organized at Bishnu Rabha Bhawan in Goreswar, Tamulpur district, by the All India Krishak Sabha and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU). The convention was presided over by Gahin Boro, President of the District Committee of Krishak Sabha, and Khagen Deka, President of CITU. The meeting began with a condolence resolution in memory of those killed in the recent incident in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22. Condolences were offered to the bereaved families, and a demand was made for strict punishment of the terrorists responsible. The convention was inaugurated by Dr. Bhupen Kumar Sharma, vice president of the Assam Agricultural Workers Union.
