Assam: 4 Persons Arrested By Police For Involvement In Sex Trade

Dibrugarh: In a series of raids conducted by the Assam police in Dibrugarh, four persons have been arrested for allegedly operating a sex racket.

Additionally, four girls have also been rescued from the clutches of the illegal sex traders by the police.

The four persons who have been arrested in connection to the case have been identified as babu Ali, Nazim Ahmed, Farida Begum and Hemanta Gogoi.

Interestingly, as per the statements of the Superintendent of Police of Dibrugarh Shwetank Mishra, Farida Ahmed is the mother of Nazim Ahmed. Both the accused are the prime figures who has been operating the sex racket.

The SP also said that the mother-son duo has been indulging in this sex racket for a very long time. The prime location of their business was a rented accommodation which they owned.

Further, SP Mishra added that generally, college going girls are targeted by such illegal sex traders.

Last month, a sex racket was busted by the Basistha Police in the CID complex at Basistha in Guwahati.

According to reports, the police had conducted a raid in the residence of one Kamalauddin Ahmed after receiving multiple complaints from the local people. Kamalauddin worked as an hawaldar in the Special Branch. Three girls were rescued by the police. The police also recover a tokay gecko from the house.
