Assam: 50-Year Old Man Allegedly Raped Minor Girl in Udalguri
According to reports, one Deepak Mahato, 50, allegedly raped a 10-year-old girl from his neighbourhood at the victim's residence.
GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old man has been arrested by the police for, allegedly, raping a minor girl in Paneri, Udalguri district of Assam.
According to reports, one Deepak Mahato, 50, allegedly raped a 10-year-old girl from his neighbourhood in her residence.
The victim's parents went to their work when the incident occurred and she was alone in the home.
Taking advantage of it, the accused entered the home and raped the girl luring her to give 20 rupees.
Later, she revealed to her mother the incident. Her mother alleged that the accused raped her minor daughter alluring to give 20 rupees.
The parents informed the local committee of the All Adivasi Students' Association (AASA) and filed a complaint against the culprit at the Paneri Police Station. The police filed a case in connection with the incident and arrested the accused.
The AASA demanded adequate punishment for the accused.
Meanwhile, Jagiroad police arrested one Rang Kumar Biswas of Chakumaku village in the district of Morigaon on charges of a rape attempt.
Sources said that the miscreant on the 26th October night entered into a house in the same village and attempted to rape a class IX standard student who was sleeping. The victim alleged that the miscreant grabbed her but foiled them as she shouted for help.
The miscreant fled but the girl sustained an injury as the boy after foiling the attempt attacked her with some sharp weapon. The local people later nabbed the culprit and handed him over to Jagiroad police. They demanded action against the culprit.
