NUMALIGARH: A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday night at 1 No. Murphulani, under the Murfulani Beat Office, where a 50-year-old man named Kuinda Bhumij was killed by a wild elephant. The body was recovered by Bogijan Police and sent to Golaghat Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
According to local sources, the beat officials were informed about the incident, but they failed to respond promptly, leading to delays in medical assistance. The incident has raised concerns about the effectiveness of the local wildlife management response. A huge number of locals gathered at the incident site, protesting against the forest department’s handling of the situation.
