DIGBOI: As many as six Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between AOD Indian Oil Digboi Refinery and various stakeholders, including the Tinsukia district administration, on Saturday at Digboi.
The components of the MoU include various projects under the current CSR initiative of IndianOil covering much-needed sectors like health, environment, women empowerment, rehabilitation centres, etc.
The dignitaries present during the ceremony include Mondira Baruah and Chinmoy Pathak, the ADCs of Tinsukia; Parikhshit Thoudam, the Margherita CO District Commissioner; IFS DFO Digboi TC Ranjith Ram; Rahul Prashant, the Executive Director & Refinery; and local legislator Suren Phukan.
The NGOs, organizations and departments partnering the Indian Oil Digboi Refinery include Aarohan: Rising Beyond Addiction Foundation for Integrated Support and Solution (FISS) & District Administration, NTEP Tinsukia for provision of Nutritional Food Basket to 2937 patients, and District Administration, NTEP, Tinsukia.
Another significant MoU was signed by AOD and the Green Bud Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Project, We For You and DFO Digboi for environmental and wildlife protection in and around Upper Dihing Reserve Forest. The AOD’s understanding was also reached with Deen Dayal Sravana Foundation (DDSF) and NHM contributing towards Deaf Free Bharath under the Deaf Free Assam mission.
Contributing towards menstrual hygiene, the Paripoorna Learning Foundation with the assistance of AOD would empower the local women through the setting up of a local sanitary napkin (pad) manufacturing unit in Digboi, thus providing the women with free access to pads. Indian Oil and Digboi Rotary Club-Managed Adarsh Seuj Prakalpa also agreed to promote organic farming, nursery training, compost protection and adopting environmentally friendly practices through the MoU signed today.
The significant event also witnessed the ceremonial handing over of 8 ambulances to various hospitals, including Digboi CHC, Lakhipather Sub Centre, Doomdoma, Margherita FRUs, Ketetong, Jagun, Pengaree MPHC and Tirap Dispensary.
The ED AOD Digboi Refinery, addressing the house, reiterates the privileges of serving the community, thus solidifying the commitment of Indian Oil to serving the nation first.
While expressing gratitude to the district administration, the official also highlighted various projects and schemes implemented meaningfully under corporate social responsibility in various locations, including Arunachal Pradesh.
A host of Indian Oil officials, representatives of the NGOs, Assam Oil Nursing School, Assam Oil Company Labour Union and people from various walks of life were also present.
