Morigaon: The 64th birth anniversary of Parag Kumar Das, a brave journalist and thinker of building a new Assam, was celebrated at the Parag Kumar Das Xhuarani Jatiya Shikha Kendra on Monday. The programme was inaugurated by former president of Morigaon Zila Xahitya Xabha Mahendra Saikia by lighting the earthen lamp and offered flowers in front of the portrait of the renowned journalist. In commemoration with the birth anniversary of late Parag Das, a meeting was held which was presided over by Birinchi Kumar Sharma, working president, Parag Kumar Das Xhuarani Jatiya Shiksha Kendra.
On the other hand the meeting was moderated by the joint secretary Jitumoni Nath. The general secretary Bubumani Goswami delivered the welcome address in the programme. Three established entrepreneurs were felicitated by the members of the organization.
The meeting was attended by the president of MDSCA Mahendra Nath Hazarika, Morigaon Sakha Xahitya Xabha’s president Puna Devi Mahanta and literary activist Rinarani Saikia and the president of AAKS Tulsi Deka, Assam Jatiya Parishad Secretary Jayanta Deka, SSRKP Rajen Deka, secretary of MBDC Ruhini Hazarika and Morigaon Satra Mahasabha secretary Bimal Barua.
