AMSTERDAM: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media to issue a heartfelt apology after unintentionally keeping a fellow passenger's international plug and charging cable on an Emirates flight.
CM Sarma, who was traveling from Delhi to Dubai this morning, shared his experience on X (formerly Twitter), expressing regret for not returning the items to the kind young man who had lent them to him during the flight.
The Assam CM explained that while he was asleep, the passenger disembarked in Dubai, and he was unable to return the borrowed items before he left. Upon arriving in Amsterdam, Sarma felt guilty for inadvertently keeping the belongings and appealed to the man to get in touch so he could arrange to return the charger and cable.
"I’ve just now arrived in Amsterdam and feel deeply apologetic for not returning his belongings. If this message reaches him, please send me a direct message so I can arrange to return your charger and cable promptly. Thank you for your kindness, and I regret any inconvenience caused," CM Sarma posted on his official X handle.
The post quickly went viral, with many X users jokingly responding to the CM's post. Some humorously asked if he had checked whether his phone was working properly or if he had intentionally fallen asleep to avoid returning the items.
