NAGAON: Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College and Assam Down Town University (AdtU)  jointly organized the North East Educators’ Conclave – Nagaon Chapter on Saturday, drawing over 120 educators from various institutions across Nagaon district.

The event, held on the ADP College premises, served as a vibrant platform for dialogue on current educational challenges, innovations, and future pathways. The conclave was inaugurated with a welcome address by Dr Sadananda Payeng, Principal of ADP College.

The programme was graced by several distinguished guests. Dr Dibya Jyoti Mahanta, Chairman of the Eastern Regional Committee of the National Council for Teacher Education (ERC, NCTE), attended as the chief guest and delivered an insightful address on the need for progressive reforms in the education sector. Celebrated author and academician Dr Kamal Saikia, currently Vice-Principal of Dr BKB College, was present as the guest of honour. Dr Mriganka Saikia, Principal, Nagaon GNDG Commerce College, was present as a special guest and added depth to the day’s discourse.

A highlight of the conclave was the keynote presentation by Dr Gunikhan Sonowal, Assistant Professor at AdtU, who spoke on the integration of Artificial Intelligence in the teaching and learning process. Dr Sonowal showcased various digital tools and AI-driven techniques aimed at enhancing pedagogical effectiveness and student engagement. The conclave featured interactive sessions and workshops that encouraged dialogue and collaboration among participants. Attendees praised the event as a much-needed initiative for fostering innovation and unity among educators in the Northeast.
