

GUWAHATI: Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora convened a vital review meeting with senior officials of the Agriculture Department at Janata Bhawan, Guwahati, to assess the progress of ongoing agricultural and horticultural initiatives across the state.
The discussions emphasized enhancing farmers' welfare and ensuring the efficient implementation of government schemes and policies. Minister Atul Bora underscored the pivotal role of agriculture as the backbone of Assam's economy and reaffirmed the government's dedication to fostering sustainable growth in the sector.
A key agenda of the meeting was the upcoming public event in Guwahati on January 9, which will feature Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The event aims to showcase the achievements of the Agriculture Department and outline future initiatives. Minister Atul Bora directed officials to ensure smooth coordination and meticulous preparations for the occasion.
Minister Atul Bora also extended New Year 2025 greetings to the officials of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department, applauding their dedication and hard work in supporting farmers. He encouraged them to maintain their commitment and redouble their efforts in the year ahead to further enhance the agriculture sector.
The meeting was attended by Agriculture Department Commissioner and Secretary Aruna Rajoria, Agriculture Production Commissioner Gunajit Kashyap, Horticulture Director Nripen Chandra Das, along with other senior officials of the department.
