
KARBI ANGLONG: In a significant development, a one-day training-cum-awareness programme on mushroom cultivation and the making of pickles and ginger-based products was conducted at the Assam Hills Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd. (AHSIDC) industrial complex in Manja on Tuesday.
AHSIDC organised the training programme in collaboration with various government departments as part of a month-long training initiative covering topics such as rubber plantation, self-employment, startup policies, tourism promotion, village industries, and scientific cultivation of betel nuts, fruit trees, and aromatic crops.
The programme was inaugurated by Dipankar Borah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ACS), and attended by Dhonsing Lekthe, Managing Director of AHSIDC, and Bandana Saikia, Demonstration Officer from the Agriculture Department.
Earlier, a ten-day training programme on the making of papad, pickle, and masala powder was held from January 27 to February 5 at the SBI Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI) building in Diphu Market, Karbi Anglong, Assam.
The event was organised by SBI-RSETI, Diphu, as part of the celebrations for the 76th Republic Day, with a focus on women's empowerment. A total of 28 women participated in the training.
On the last day, participants received certificates for taking part. During the ceremony, the Director of SBI-RSETI, Dasarath Brahma, explained that the training was organised to celebrate the 76th Republic Day.
