GUWAHATI: The Anna Sewa Din for February 2025, running from February 1 to 10, brings key guidelines for both beneficiaries and Fair Price Shops (FPS).
Beneficiaries are advised to collect free rice from Fair Price Shops on the designated days. It is important to ensure that receipts generated by the e-PoS machines are collected for the rice received. Under the National Food Security Act, beneficiaries in the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH) categories are entitled to 35 kg and 5 kg of rice per month, respectively.
A total of 2,45,68,040 beneficiaries from 70,68,515 households will receive their rations. New beneficiaries who registered in December 2024, as well as those who have not updated their e-KYC, are required to provide their fingerprints on the e-PoS devices during this period.
Fair Price Shops are required to inform beneficiaries about Anna Sewa Din through widespread publicity. The shops will stay open throughout the day during the event to ensure complete distribution of rice. Shopkeepers must make sure that beneficiaries receive the receipts generated by the e-PoS machines for the rice they collect.
These actions are part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the smooth and effective distribution of rice to the entitled beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.
