JAMUGURIHAT: The 95th Annual Conference of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha will be held on February 6, 7, and 8, 2026 at Jyoti-Bishnu Samannay Khetra, Dhalaibil here. In this connection, a total of 35 sub-committees have already been formed and the reception committee has started all the initial works for the successful conclusion of the session. The highly-awaited conference will be held on 1200 bighas of agricultural land along NH-15 near Chaibari, Jamugurihat. There are many Islamic people in the village of Bakola who are adjacent to the venue of the session and they are planning to make the session a success in every way. The Muslim women of the area have decided to make pitha-pona collectively to serve the guests. The conference will be a meeting place for harmony, said Shahajahan Ahmed and Fajnur Ali.

Talking to this correspondent, Shahajahan Ahmed and Abdul Ajmi, President and Secretary of Pub Bharali Muslim Kalyan Parishad respectively, said that the Muslim people of the locality have geared up for the primary preparations to make the upcoming event a successful one and they are committed to enhance the communal harmony, integrity, brotherhood, spiritual belief and cultural exchanges. Bipul Bora, Secretary of the reception committee, informed that projects on land development of the conference site are underway and the construction work for sub-ways has been expedited. He added that a map showing all directions and routes for commuters has been finalized.
