Assam: Areca nut-laden vehicle hijacked by miscreants in Boko

Boko: A Tata Intra vehicle carrying 48 bags of areca nuts was hijacked by miscreants at Bondapara area on NH17 around 2am on Tuesday. According to driver Makam Ali, a truck stopped them from the front, while a small vehicle approached from behind. A group of six to seven people then overpowered them, blindfolded them, and took them away in their vehicle.

The driver and businessman Majnun Rahman were released near Kompadoli area along the Assok-Meghalaya border under Boko Police Station on Tuesday morning. Majnun Rahman reported that the miscreants stole Rs 62,000 in cash, along with their mobile phones. Boko Police have launched an operation to apprehend the culprits and recover the hijacked vehicle.
