There will be postal ballot facility this time in the assembly election for specially-abled voters and persons above 80 years of age. In Barpeta district, there are 15,623 voters above 80 years of age and 1,585 specially-abled voters.

These voters can cast their votes through postal ballot as per the direction of the Election Commission of India, stated the Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta, Munindra Sarma in a press meet on Tuesday at the Barpeta DC office conference hall. The polling officials will distribute the special form and collect it from them within March 10. From March 30 to April 3, the polling officials will collect the postal ballot. In this meeting, the CEO of Barpeta Zila Parishad, Manoj Sikaria, Diganta Das, District Development Officer, and ADCs and DIPRO Bikash Sarma were also present.
