GUWAHATI: Clearing all the speculations ahead of the Assam Assembly election 2021, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee confirmed its alliance with All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF).

The party president, Ripun Bora in a press meet said that the Congress party will have an alliance with CPI, CPI(M) and Anchalik Gana Morcha.

The announcement was made in presence of AICC observer and Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Waghel, AICC Assam in-charge Jitendra Singh and AICC leader Mukul Wasnik.

Meanwhile, Jitendra Singh said that the party manifesto will be made in accordance with all the allied parties and also with due respect with the citizens of Assam.

The Congress party also stated that the party will openly welcome Raijor Dal and Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) to be a part of this grand alliance.

It is to be mentioned that as per ABP-C Voter survey Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA is likely to get 73-81 seats in the upcoming Assam Assembly polls.

As per the poll prediction, the BJP led-Assam government will comfortably cross the magic number of 63 while UPA is projected to win around 36-44 seats.

It is to be mentioned that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) along with its allied regional party- Asom Gana Parishad, United People's Party Liberal and Gana Suraksha Party is set to secure a strong foothold in the state of Assam.

The ABP-C Voter Projected Vote share is- NDA- 43%, UPA- 35%, AIDUF- 8%, OTH- 14%

Notably, the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) led by the Congress will look to regain its lost fame in the state of Assam with the alliance of Left parties of Assam.

Currently, the BJP stands with 60 MLAs, while its allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and BPF have 14 and 12 lawmakers while the opposition Congress has 23 MLAs, while the AIUDF has 14 members in the House.

With the polls around the corner, the BJP led Assam government is confident to gain 100 plus seats in the upcoming Assam assembly elections.
