KOKRAJHAR: A review meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Baksa, was held recently at the District Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Mushalpur, under the chairmanship of Baksa District Commissioner and Chairperson of DDMA Gautam Das.
Chairing the meeting, DC Das instructed the officials to constantly coordinate with each other to monitor the situation. The meeting focused on assessing and strengthening disaster preparedness for the 2025-26 season, with a particular emphasis on mitigating the impact of floods and storms.
During the session, DC Das reviewed the readiness of resources. He also reviewed previous year’s flood impact, including the implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) relief grants. The discussions also covered the Multi-Hazard Disaster Management Plan and the guidelines of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). Discussions related to flood damage assessment through the DRIMS portal were also held.
Circle officers gave updates on vulnerable areas and designated relief camps. Teams from NDRF, SDRF, police, and others took part in the review meeting. Officials from various departments and emergency response agencies actively contributed to the discussion, providing insights and recommendations to enhance disaster resilience across the district.
