BAKSA: Assam Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma inaugurated the newly completed Multi-Storied Tribal Rest House at Koklabari Keshab Nwgwr in Baksa, Assam, on Wednesday.

The building, constructed with a funding of Rs. 2 crore from the WPT fund, is expected to benefit the local community by providing a space for various programs and events.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Speaker of BTCLA, Kati Ram Baro, MCLA Mantu Baro, District President of UPPL Khwirwm Dwirwm, General Secretary Biju Barkochary, Block President Bipul Baro, and leaders from ABSU, CKPC/BSS, along with social activists and community members.

This facility will serve as an important resource for the tribal community, offering comfortable accommodation and encouraging cultural and social activities. The initiative is expected to promote inclusive development and community welfare in the region.

Recently, Minister of Welfare of Bodoland, Urkhao Gwra Brahma chaired a review meeting in Baksa to assess the progress of various Public Works Department (PWD) and Social Welfare projects. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Baksa Gautam Das, ACS, and Member of Council Legislative Assembly (MCLA) Mantu Baro.

The main discussions were about finishing road projects on time and setting up Model Anganwadi Centres to help the community. The minister stressed the need for efficient work so that these development projects can benefit local people.
