Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Named Best Chief Minister In India With 55.4% Satisfaction Rating

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has edged out chief ministers of other states to become the best Chief Minister in India, according to the Mood of the Nation (MOTN) Survey conducted by India Today group in February 2025. CM Sarma registered an impressive score of 55.4%, beating many of his peers in the nation.

The score reflects a steady surge in popularity among the masses over the last two years as well as previous scores of 50.8% in August 2024, 48.6% in February 2024, and 49.2% in August 2023. This upsurge in popularity is an indication of enhanced trust in his administration and the positive effect of his policies in the state.

On the other hand, leaders from states such as Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Karnataka have not had as high a satisfaction rating, further solidifying CM Sarma's leadership as the benchmark of good governance for the country. The total focus of his administration has been infrastructure, welfare measures, economic development, and police reform, creating Assam as a model for good governance.

Over the past three years, Assam has made truly gigantic strides in several areas, such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and law enforcement, with initiatives that have changed the lives of such citizens directly and fueled development.

The recent survey findings also add to CM Sarma's reputation as a forward-thinking and dynamic leader.
