
GUWAHATI: Assam's Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Public Enterprise, Bimal Borah, met the Chairman and Founder of the leading natural resources conglomerate, Vedanta Resources Limited, Anil Agarwal, during the London roadshow and invited him to the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit in February.
In the discussion between Borah and Agarwal, the former emphasized Assam’s growth story as one of the leading investment destinations under the combined visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. while exploring avenues of collaboration between the state and one of the world’s leading mining and metals companies, which is focused on sustainable resource management.
Agarwal cared deeply about helping people and making society better, along with growing the economy. He worked on building skills, supporting new businesses, and using eco-friendly practices. This fits well with Assam’s goals of creating jobs, empowering people, and growing together. Minister Borah requests Agarwal to further explore potential collaborations that can accelerate Assam’s development journey.
Borah also invited Agarwal to the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit to be held in Guwahati in February.
Later Borah also visits Space Scale White City, London, and the Imperial Innovation Hub.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Assam Bimal Borah, Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Public Enterprise, visited London. Borah met British Minister for Indo-Pacific Catherine West at her office last night after arriving in London ahead of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.
During the meeting, Minister Borah emphasized the numerous initiatives launched by the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, to create a Viksit Asom that thrives as an economic powerhouse, fostering growth, innovation, and opportunities for global partnerships.
