Assam: Biswanath Plans City Gas Pipeline With North East Gas Distribution Company

BISWANATH: A meeting was held on February 13, 2025, in the conference hall of the DC office in Biswanath, chaired by District Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey, ACS, to discuss about the laying of the city gas pipeline in Biswanath district with North East Gas Distribution Company LTD.

During the meeting, representatives from the company explained the entire process of laying the pipelines. The meeting was attended by various officials, including Hriday Kumar Das, ACS, ADC Biswanath, Kulendra Nath Deka, APS, Addl SP (HQ) Biswanath, Circle Officers, EO’s, and officials from several departments such as PWD (R), PWD NH, BSNL, and NHIDCL.

Meanwhile, a five-day hybrid international Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on 'Current Trends and Approaches in Teaching-Learning' was successfully held from February 5 to 10, 2025, at Biswanath College of Education, organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

The inaugural session was attended by Prof. Jogen Chandra Kalita and Dr. Dulumoni Goswami. The event featured discussions on topics such as Learning Management Systems, Vocational Education, Indian Knowledge System, NEP-based teaching methods, and online learning. Keynote speakers included Prof. Dulumoni Goswami, Dr. Rita Kakati Shah, Dr. Alaka Das, Prof. Nil Ratan Roy, Dr. Deepak Waikar, and Dr. Santanu Kalita.

The programme was mentored by leading academics, including Prof. Nilima Bhagabati and Dr. Jogen Chandra Kalita. On the occasion, Anku Moni Kapil, Assistant Professor at the college, was honored for receiving the prestigious CCRT Junior Fellowship in Sattriya Dance. The FDP offered valuable insights and professional development opportunities for educators.
