GUWAHATI: A Foreign Affairs Department has been established by the Assam Pradesh BJP with the goal of strengthening ties with Assamese people worldwide and encouraging global collaboration for the development of the state.

On November 28, the new wing, headed by convener Mrinal Hatkhowa, had its first executive meeting.

The department will concentrate on enhancing its cultural and economic connections with international populations, according to Convenor Hatkhowa.

In light of the continuous violence against Hindus in the bordering country, he also emphasized talks on resolving international conflicts, especially with Bangladesh.

"We are exploring solution-oriented measures to address international conflicts, especially concerning the situation in Bangladesh. However, any action will be contingent upon responses from the Ministry of External Affairs and the BJP's central committee. Once we receive their guidance, we will take steps in that direction," Hatkhowa stated.
