Assam: BJP takes lead in Dhekiajuli Panchayat Election vote count

DHEKIAJULI: Counting of votes for the Panchayat election in Dhekiajuli began at 8 AM on Sunday at the LOKD College strong room under the supervision of the Dhekiajuli co-district administration, which ensured full preparedness and security arrangements.

In the Dhekiajuli constituency, there are 4 Zila Parishad Constituency (ZPC) seats, 17 Anchalik Panchayat (AP) member seats, and 170 Ward Member positions, out of which the BJP secured 12 AP member seats and 1 ZPC seat uncontested. BJP candidates Dhan Prasad Adhikari, Pompa Dey, and Santosh Das won the AP member seats from Barbhagia Belshiri, Bhotpara, and Majroumari Panchayats respectively.

In Barbhagia Belshiri Panchayat, Ward Member winners include Sukleswari Boro (Ward 1), Monika Malodass (Ward 5), and Protima Biswas (Ward 9).

In Bhangamandir Panchayat, winners are Asmina Begum (Ward 2), Aktar Hussain (Ward 3), Abieter Hembrom (Ward 5), Ashiya Khatun (Ward 6), Jyotirupa Devi (Ward 7), Lakheshwari Bhuiyan (Ward 8), and Dipamoni Das (Ward 9).

In Ameopur Panchayat, Rudra Bahadur Thakuri (Ward 1), Sumita Praja (Ward 2), Sushila Minz (Ward 3), Arun Kumar Rabha (Ward 4), and Brinda Devi Hazarika (Ward 5) emerged victorious.

In South Shingori Panchayat, Devika Sutradhar (Ward 3) and Alamin Haque (Ward 9) secured wins. Dipshikha Das won in New Shingori Panchayat.

Meanwhile, at the time of the filing of this report, counting was still underway for Gupteswar, Ameopur, and Doomdooma Zila Parishad seats where BJP candidates continued to maintain a lead. Final results will be confirmed once the complete counting process concludes.
