Assam: Blood donation camp held at SMD College in Sivasagar district

NSS unit of SMD College in Sivasagar district organized a blood donation camp in association with voluntary organization Samannoy Sarathi.

GAURISAGAR: NSS unit of Swahid Maniram Dewan (SMD) College, Charing in Sivasagar district organized a blood donation camp in association with voluntary organization Samannoy Sarathi on Monday. The camp was inaugurated by Srimonta Dutta, youth social worker and chief admin of popular Facebook group ‘Anushilan.’  Addressing the gathering, he said that all the people who have no physical problems should donate blood even now. Dr Bidyananda Borkakoty, Principal of the college, inaugurated the programme by being the first to donate blood.

In the camp, Dr Aminur Rahman, Officer of Blood Bank, Sivasagar Civil Hospital, said that donating blood does not harm any human being. In the camp, the officers and the other staff of Sivasagar Civil Hospital, Dr Devaleena Kashyap, Nijumoni Sonowal, Upen Gogoi, Ananta Senchowa, Tapan Deori, Champak Chutia, and Manashjyoti Gogoi provided their services. Earlier, Kirtidiptya  Bhuyan of Samannoy Sarathi anchored the programme while Devajyoti Hazarika, Assistant Professor-cum-Programme Officer of NSS unit, SMD College, offered the vote of thanks to all for successful completion of the camp.
