More than 50 people, including students from Margherita College, student bodies, Indian Army jawans, and local residents, donated blood at the camp.

Parikshit Thoudam, while briefing media persons of Margherita, said, “Today, I have donated blood, as blood donation is a noble and holy work where everyone must take part as it helps rejuvenate the blood, making it healthier and stronger.

Dr SK Dutta said that the blood collection would be done by a team from Tinsukia Civil Hospital.

“Since two years after I joined the Margherita FRU/Civil Hospital as a Deputy Superintendent, I have given importance to the blood storage centre as earlier it was defunct and many patients had to move to Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, and other parts of Assam. However, now the blood storage centre has been revamped and there is no shortage of blood at the hospital,” said Dutta.

The event aimed to promote blood donation and create awareness about its importance. It was a successful initiative, and the collected blood will be used to save lives in the region.
