Assam: Body of old age home inmate donated to AIIMS in Guwahati

Rajkumari Das, a homeless nonagenarian woman who had been residing at the Niribili Old Age Home at Mangaldai for about a year, passed away.

MANGALDAI: Rajkumari Das, a homeless nonagenarian woman who had been residing at the Niribili Old Age Home at Mangaldai for about a year, passed away on Sunday at Mangaldai Civil Hospital due to age-related ailments. With no family or home to claim her, the Old Age Home authorities decided to contribute to medical science by donating her body to the AIIMS in Guwahati. Following all government protocols, the body was transported to Guwahati today. Notably, Rajkumari was rescued a year ago from Dhula in Mangaldai and given shelter at the Niribili Old Age Home.
