GAURISAGAR: In an inspiring blend of journalism and literature, Madan Mohan Pagbandha, President of the Selenghat Press Club, Jorhat district, has etched his name in the Assam Book of Records by accomplishing an extraordinary poetic challenge. Pagbandha has been officially recognized for composing five original poems within a span of just 15 minutes, a feat that highlights not only his literary prowess but also his creative spontaneity. The event took place on April 6, during a literary session where Pagbandha chose the Ramayana, one of India’s most revered epics, as the central theme of his poetic expression. Drawing from the vast spiritual and emotional tapestry of the Ramayana, he penned five distinct poems titled ‘Kesari Nandan,’ ‘Bishador Sakulu (Urmila),’ ‘Saraju,’ ‘Danduka Bon,’ and ‘Vibhishana.’ Each poem, though written under extreme time constraints, reflected depth, emotion, and cultural resonance. Pagbandha’s achievement is not only a personal milestone but also a moment of pride for the literary and journalistic communities of Assam. Known for his active role in regional journalism, Pagbandha has long been involved in creative writing alongside his reporting duties. His ability to interweave journalism with literature has earned him respect as a multi-talented personality in the region.  His inclusion in the Assam Book of Records has not only brought recognition to his individual efforts but has also highlighted the cultural vibrancy of Selenghat. As news of his record spreads, it is expected to inspire a new generation of literary enthusiasts and journalists to push the boundaries of their creativity.
