BONGAIGAON: Seeking global peace, the Assam Brahmin Samaj, Bongaigaon district committee will conduct a three-day long Sri Sri Mahabishnu Yajna from March 31 at Bongaigaon Gandhi field.

Talking to the media, Bijay Chakraborty and Ratneswar Sarma, president and secretary of Yajna reception committee, said that the programme would start with Mangalasaranam by Dr Damodar Mishra which will be followed by inauguration of Yajna by Jagga Prasad Upaddhaya. Adhibas will be done by Yajna Acharjya Ajit Sarma.

“On the next day shraddha will be done by Nalini Kumar Sarma which will be followed by hoisting of the flag of the Yajna and flag of Brahmin Samaj by reception committee president Bijay Chakraborty and Asom Brahman Samaj Bongaigaon committee president Anil Sarma respectively. Several programmes such as Bedpath, Jal Aharan Jatra, Agni Aharan Jatra, ahuti etc. will be conducted. In the evening lightening lamp will be done by Sailendra Sarkar, deputy chairman of Bongaigaon Municipality,” they said.

“On the last day a souvenir titled Swatyayan-Pradipika will be released by Dr Upendrajit Sarma, secretary of Axam Xahitya Xabha and Head of the Assamese Department of Bholanath College,” they said.
