KOKRAJHAR: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTR Pramod Boro today paid tribute to Rajen Boro, President of Bhergaon District UPPL, founder of Paneri Anchalik committee, ABSU, and wildlife conservationist, on his Adhyashradha ceremony held at his residence today.
Boro said that Late Rajen Boro was a dedicated party worker of the UPPL and was greatly loved and admired by all for his hard work and commitment to the party’s founding principles. He said that Late Boro was the recipient of the 1st Bijoy Krishna Handique Memorial Award for Leadership in ‘Wildlife Conservation,’ awarded by the Development Foundation of Assam in 2017.
Boro said that at this hour of grief, his thoughts and prayers were with the bereaved family members. He also said that the UPPL family will stand with his family members. He also prayed for eternal peace for his departed soul.
Meanwhile, ABSU President Dipen Boro said that he was deeply saddened over Rajen Boro’s untimely demise at Max Hospital in New Delhi recently during treatment. He said that Late Boro was the former president of Paneri Anchalik Committee, ABSU, a revolutionary figure during the Bodoland Movement, and was holding the position of President of Bhergaon district, UPPL, at the time of his death.
“We worked together to mitigate and conserve Asia’s largest man-elephant conflict zone, the Indo- Bhutan area of Udalguri District from 2010-2014 under Elephant on the Line programme,” he said. Boro prayed to the almighty for his eternal peace. He also said that his indomitable contributions to the society and community will always be remembered.
