KOKRAJHAR: The Bodoland University (BU) successfully organized a two-day workshop on ‘New Methodology of NAAC Binary Accreditation and Implementation of NEP’ recently at the conference hall of the Administrative Building. The event brought together faculty members, and academic leaders from higher educational institutions (HEIs) in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) to discuss the latest accreditation framework and the effective execution of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The workshop commenced with an inaugural session featuring a welcome address by Prof Sanjay Basumatary, IQAC Director, followed by a keynote speech from Prof BL Ahuja, Vice-Chancellor of Bodoland University.
In his address, Prof Ahuja emphasized the crucial role of NAAC accreditation in enhancing the quality of higher education institutions and ensuring transparency, accountability, and excellence in teaching and research.
Dr Manjil Basumatary, Academic Registrar, delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the importance of accreditation and NEP implementation, while Dr Prince Kr Mochahari, IQAC coordinator, extended the vote of thanks. The first day was exclusively dedicated to the faculty members of Bodoland University, beginning with an insightful session on NAAC’s new accreditation framework by Dr Dharmadhikari NS, an educationalist from Pune and a member of the NAAC and UGC Committee. His detailed discussion on assessment criteria and key indicators provided faculty members with a deeper understanding of the accreditation process. The day also featured sessions on the implementation of NEP at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and the role of internships, conducted by Dr Manjil Basumatary.
The second day was designed for delegates from various affiliated colleges of Bodoland University. It began with another session by Dr Dharmadhikari NS, focusing on NAAC’s revised accreditation process, tailored for college administrators and faculty members. This was followed by sessions on NEP implementation and internship strategies, delivered by Dr Nayanjyoti Bhattacharjee, Head, Department of Management Studies. Additionally, Dr Sanjay Swargiary, Deputy Registrar (Examinations), provided insights into the Academic and Examination Module-Samarth.
The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, where Dr Manjil Basumatary delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing the need for a quality-driven academic environment. Dr Sanjay Basumatary, IQAC Director, extended a vote of thanks to all participants, resource persons, and organizers. The two-day workshop was a landmark event in Bodoland University’s pursuit of academic excellence, offering profound insights into the latest accreditation reforms, strategies for effective NEP implementation, and the transformative role of Samarth in digital governance.
