GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet has extended the application deadline for Mission Basundhara (MB) 3.0 until February 15, 2025. This extension gives eligible individuals extra time to submit their applications and take advantage of the land-related services available under the scheme. Applicants now have more time to complete the process.
On October 20, 2024, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched Mission Basundhara 3.0, introducing eight new services that were not part of the previous versions. These new services aim to further streamline land-related processes and provide better services to the people of Assam.
The new services include reviewing rejected cases from Mission Basundhara 2.0, settling land digitally for non-individual entities, and addressing the settlement of Bhoodan/Gramdan land.
Other services involve giving ownership rights to tenants of former rural lands in towns, offering reclassification options, and digitalizing the process for converting annual pattas to permanent pattas in urban areas. Additionally, there will be limited conversion of tea grant land and land settlement under the SVAMITVA NC Village Survey.
The application deadline for Mission Basundhara 3.0 was initially set for January 10, 2025, with over 5,35,588 applications submitted by that date. Among these, 1,54,116 applications are for the review of unsuccessful cases from the previous phase.
An important aspect of the scheme is the settlement of land for institutions such as schools, religious organizations, and clubs. The Revenue & Disaster Management department has also confirmed that field verifications will be carried out during the review process.
