Assam: Cabinet Minister Ashok Singhal Visits LOKD College on Saraswati Puja

DHEKIAJULI: On the auspicious occasion of Saraswati Puja, Assam Cabinet Minister Ashok Singhal visited Lokanayak Ameo Kumar Das College (LOKD) in Dhekiajuli and sought the blessings of goddess Saraswati. The minister interacted with students and faculty members encouraging them to strive for academic excellence and contribute to the state’s progress.

During his visit, Singhal also toured several other educational institutions in the Dhekiajuli Town, engaging with students and discussing their aspirations. His presence added enthusiasm to the celebrations as the students eagerly shared their views on education and future opportunities.

The prominent educational institutions of Dhekiajuli including Dhekiajuli Boys’ High School, Dhekiajuli Girls’ High School, and Netaji Vidya Mandir High School, along with others, observed Saraswati Puja with great devotion and cultural fervour. Students actively participated in the rituals irrespective of caste or creed, reflecting Assam’s rich tradition of communal harmony.

The festive atmosphere was marked by prayers, devotional songs, and cultural performances as the students invoked the blessings of the goddess of wisdom for academic success and enlightenment. Saraswati Puja, a major festival in Assam’s academic institutions, continues to unite students and teachers in their shared pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.
