Assam: Chaprakata Pt. II Village Set for Transformation into Model Village Under Sangsad Adarsha Gram Yojana

Bongaigaon: A team of Socio-Economic Research and Development Organization from New Delhi headed by Dr BK Pandey has been studying the socio-economic condition of Chaprakata Pt.ii village from the last few days with the purpose of transforming this village to be a model one.

Phani Bhusan Choudhury , MP of Barpeta HPC, has taken this village to develop under Sangsad Adarsha Gram Yojana. To be a Model Village, it requires to implement all flagship programmes of the Government of India and Government of State including better socio-economic development, human resource development, better communication, improvement of traditional industry, uninterrupted power supply, better health care, proper solid and liquid waste management, self-employment, and to balance gender-ratio etc. To discuss these issues, MP Choudhury met the departmental heads along with Nabadeep Pathak,the District Commissioner of Bongaigaon, with the officials of the organization in the conference hall of DC Office, Bongaigaon. Dr BK Pandey and officials of the organization shared their experiences of the visit to Chaprakata Pt.ii village during the last few days.  Dr Pandey requested cooperation of concerned departments so that the village can be a Model Village outside of the country also. Dr Pandey said that he is trying to work for the village so that this village can carry a message to the people outside India. He assured the MP of Barpeta HPC that he will leave no stone unturned to transform this village as Model one and to make it an attraction for foreign tourists.
