SILAPATHAR: A heart-wrenching incident has sent shockwaves throughout the town of Silapathar in Assam, following the suicide of 16-year-old Shivajit Nandi on April 5. The 10th standard student was found hanging from his house in Majarbari Jamalpur village, leaving his family members and residents of the locality shocked and speechless.

Shivajit was said to be a sweet and loving boy, and thus, his act of killing himself was all the more surprising. As per his family, the boy had been dating a 17-year-old girl from the locality. Reports indicate that an argument occurred between the couple via phone just prior to Shivajit's tragic act.

In a shocking turn of events, CCTV footage of Shivajit's house caught the act, which indicated that he had stabbed himself multiple times while recording the act on his mobile phone, reportedly to prove something to his girlfriend. The Nandi family holds the opinion that the girl had a vital role in Shivajit's mindset, driving him to resort to this drastic action.

Shivajit's mother is heartbroken over the loss of her only son, and the family has filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Silapathar Police Station. But they feel that the authorities are not giving the case the priority it deserves. People are calling for the girl to be arrested since they feel that it may reveal the truth behind this tragic incident.
