Assam: Class 9 English Exam Cancelled In Barpeta Following Question Paper Leak

An official of the district-level internal examination committee said they learned about the paper leak on Wednesday evening.

BARPETA: Officials in Assam's Barpeta district has decided to cancel the class 9 English annual exam scheduled for Thursday after the question paper got leaked on social media.

Barpeta school inspector Ratul Kumar Das issued an order to all the school heads in the district and intimated about the exam's cancellation. A new exam date will be announced later. 

"I would like to inform you that the English paper of class 9 annual examination, which was scheduled to be held on March 20, is hereby postponed due to unavoidable circumstances," he said in the order. 

Meanwhile, an official of the district-level internal examination committee said they learned about the paper leak on Wednesday evening. "We suspect that the paper went viral on social media. We are verifying all claims. We cannot take any risk and cancelled the examination," he added.

Similarly, last year in February, the English subject question paper of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Exam 2024 got leaked in Cachar within half an hour of the commencement of the exam.

The leaked question paper flooded social media platforms, thereby denting the reputation of the HSLC exam in Cachar. It was suspected that the leaked question paper originated from the examination center of Banskandi Nena Mia H.S. School in Cachar.
