14 Arrested in 2019 Meghalaya MTET Paper Leak

Shillong: Minister in-charge of Education Rakkam A. Sangma, informed the Assembly that 14 individuals have been arrested in connection with the 2019 Meghalaya Teachers' Eligibility Test (MTET)question paper leak. Speaking during the question hour on Friday, Sangma stated that 11 out of the 14 arrested persons are students or MTET candidates. He further revealed that the source of the leak was traced to a program developer and an employee of NEICOM Impression Printing Press, Guwahati.  The question paper leak was first detected at Tura Government College, West Garo Hills District, he added. The minister assured that the government will take steps to ensure such incidents do not reoccur in the future.
