Assam CM Attends Centenary Celebration Of Ramakrishna Mission In Silchar

SILCHAR: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the centenary celebrations of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Silchar, and the inauguration of the newly constructed Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansadeva.

During the event, CM Sarma paid his deepest respects to Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansadeva and extended his heartfelt greetings to Swami Ganadhishananda and all those associated with this esteemed institution.

The event was graced by the President of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Belur Math, Gautamananda Ji Maharaj, Vice President Girishananda Ji Maharaj, and Satyaranjan Bhattacharjee, President of Ramakrishna Mission Sevasram Silchar Centenary Committee. The secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Silchar, Swami Gandhishananda Ji Maharaj, played a pivotal role in the construction of the temple.

In recognition of the mission's efforts, CM Sarma announced that the state government will provide Rs. 5 crore to the Ma Sarada Charitable Dispensary, part of the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram Hospital.

Additionally, the state government will also allocate Rs. 4 crore to settle the outstanding debt for the construction of the Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhanshadeva, Silchar. This initiative reflects the state's continued support for the invaluable work of the Ramakrishna Mission in serving humanity.

Since its establishment in 1915, Ramakrishna Mission Silchar has remained a beacon of spiritual enlightenment and humanitarian service. With its affiliation with Belur Math in 1939, it has grown into a cornerstone of religious and social upliftment in the region.
