Himanta Biswa Sarma stated this on Tuesday, however he turned away from predicting the exact number of seats the party is likely to win. It is worth mentioning that, BJP won as much as nine seats out of 14 Lok Sabha seats in 2019 polls, marking the best win till date in northeastern states.

The CM informed the media that, the executive meeting dis not revolve around the topic of elections. There are several key areas upon which views are exchanged.

However, when a collaborative discussion to intensify the organisation takes place, the matter of election also comes in. The minister when asked about the tactics in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, replied that, the results will be surely better than the previous ones.

The CM further emphasised that, there's still a decent amount of time for the Lok Sabha election, so working with a precise number on head is baseless.

But BJP will continue to rule the state, he added. The state executive meeting took place within 15 days of the national executive meeting, as set by the BJP. Himanta Biswa Sarma further mentioned that, conclusions and discussions at the national executive were done to take them to booth level.

He also highlighted the the matter of delimitation and explained that the process won't benefit or harm anyone on a longer run, its a reflection of the public. Even if delimitation takes place, the total number of Assembly constituencies will stick to 126, the CM added.
