
SINGAPORE: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived in Singapore yesterday for a two-day visit, where he is set to meet the country’s top government officials and industry leaders. Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by High Commission of India in Singapore, Shilpak Ambule.
During his visit, CM Sarma held an insightful discussion with leaders from the semiconductor industry, focusing on potential collaborations to strengthen India-Singapore ties. The discussions emphasized the significance of the sector in Assam’s development, particularly in the upcoming Electronic City in Jagiroad.
Expressing his gratitude, CM Sarma thanked representatives from ASMPT, AEM, Besi, Temasek, Silicon Box, Nitto Denko Corp, Heller Industries, and Meinhardt Group for their participation in the meeting. He also expressed enthusiasm to build on this momentum and drive forward Assam’s vision for technological and industrial growth.
Meanwhile, Assam was poised for a major industrial transformation as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a high-level discussion with Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his son Anant Ambani on positioning the state as India’s next Industry 4.0 hub.
The meeting on February 8 had focused on how Reliance Industries could help with this change. With new technology improving manufacturing, Assam aims to become a key center for innovation and industrial growth. Reliance Industries, known for its contributions to India’s industrial and technological growth, was expected to play a key role in shaping this vision.
