
GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wished the Dimasa-Kachari community a happy Busu Dima, a harvest festival that celebrates farming success and cultural unity.
The Chief Minister shared his wishes on social media, saying, "Warm greetings to the Dimasa-Kachari community on Busu Dima. This joyful harvest festival brings the community together and enriches Assam's diverse culture."
Busu Dima is a significant occasion that underscores the Dimasa community's deep agrarian heritage and bond with nature. The word “Busu” means “harvest festival” in Dimasa, while “Dima” represents the community’s identity. Celebrated with great enthusiasm, Busu Dima signifies the end of the harvest season, providing an opportunity for the Dimasa people to offer thanks to the deities and nature for their abundant blessings.
